You Don’t Know Jazz or Maybe You Do is a music talk presentation highlighting some of the great jazz music in the library’s collection. You will be introduced to artists like Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and many more artists on Monday May 16th at 6:30 p.m.
Club 745.5: Emergency Stove: Come and learn how to make an Emergency Stove this month during our crafting class. We will be recycling empty tuna cans and cardboard into a nifty stove you can use in an emergency. Join us on May 19th at 6:30 p.m. and May 20th at 10:30 a.m.

Smartphone Apps: Do you carry a “computer” in your pocket by way of a smartphone? Want to know about programs that you can do on your smartphone? Stop on in and let us help with that information. This class is held on Tuesday May 17th at 11:00 a.m.
Microsoft Windows: We will start at the very beginning of Windows 7 with an introduction to the Desktop, Start Menu and the all new Taskbar. We will also learn more about the Start Menu, where you can launch any programs installed on your computer and also search for files (pictures, videos and music) we’ll also demonstrate how to “pin” your favorite programs to the Start Menu or Taskbar. Did you know that you can Aero Peek, Snap and Shake on your computer? If you don’t know what we am talking about, stop in and let us show you some new ways of working with Windows to make it more productive.
E-Book Reader: We will teach learners how to download e-books from Overdrive to the Overdrive app on your tablet or cell phone on Tuesday May 17th at 5:00 p.m. and Thursday May 19th at 2:00 p.m.
Setting up an Email Account: If you never have had an email account this is the class for you. Learn about the different free email service that is very easy to sign-up for and use. This is held on Wednesday May 18th at 6:00 p.m.
Job and Career Accelerator: Are you looking for a job? Need help updating your resume? Then this is your class. Learn how to use this library database to search and apply for jobs in the United States. This program allows you to create a resume and cover letters that are adapted to the type of job you are looking for. This class is held on Wednesday May 18th at 7:00 p.m.
Nebraska Access: An introduction to the search engine developed by the Nebraska Library Commission and the databases available to South Sioux City Public Library card holders. This is held on Thursday May 19th at 10:00 a.m.
Yahoo Messenger: Do you have friends or family that live so far away you never get to see them. Yahoo Messenger provides you the opportunity to keep in contact with them for free. Yahoo Messenger is a free instant messaging program that allows you to visually see, talk to and even sends text messages to individuals all over the world. This class will teach you how to set up an account and what type of equipment you will need for your computer. Join us on Thursday May 19th at 11:00 p.m.
Microsoft Publisher: This is a basic course covering the types of documents that can be created, how to modify templates and how to insert text and images. You will also learn to use templates and how to create a variety of documents using Microsoft Publisher on Thursday May 19th at 3:00 p.m.
